DANIEL T. AYERS, PA-C – Physician Assistant

Daniel T. Ayers, PA-C - Physician AssistantDan Ayers, the youngest of 4 children, was born in Manassas, Virginia. After graduating high school, Dan went to Alderson-Broaddus College, a small Baptist liberal arts college in West Virginia where he finished up his undergraduate and PA degree. Through hours of dedication and hard work, he made the dean’s list throughout PA school. During his internship training, Dan enjoyed the standard rotations in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, ER, OB/GYN, and general surgery. He also chose elective rotations in spinal cord injury and trauma surgery.

Shortly after his PA graduation in 1994, Dan was recruited to Moultrie to work in the primary care clinic and the emergency department. It was a great learning experience and gave him a strong medical foundation. In 1998, after accepting a position with Dr. Leon Smith at Valdosta Family Medicine, Dan relocated to Valdosta. After working at VFM for 7 years, Dan left to work in plastic surgery performing cosmetic procedures and first assisting in the OR. In September of 2010, Dan began his career in bariatric medicine at Smith-Northview Hospital where he performed band adjustments, gave informational seminars, and provided perioperative and intraoperative care before the program was discontinued “I love what I do”, says Ayers. “It is a perfect fit for me and is so rewarding to help people feel better about themselves and live longer, more productive lives.”

Dan has been active in church leadership and he has helped lead medical mission trips to Haiti. He also enjoys movies and dinner dates with his wife and quality time with his family. His other hobbies include traveling, soccer, kayaking, and golf.
